Again with the chronic laryngitis! I get a little sniffly, the stuff drains and irritates my throat, and then I sound like an ogre for a couple of days! There's a possibility that the salt dust from dreading two heads this week may have aggravated things, or maybe it was the dust from sawing some Pullip eyes for customizing. Anyway, I sound funny and my throat hurts.

Tomorrow morning I am doing a workshop for a bunch of ladies in Sparta that might turn into a class. It would mean four classes a week for me, maybe I'd drop this roundness in my middle too. Plus, the money will be nice to put toward my Medusa tattoo. It looks like I'll need to start getting some ideas together for a sleeve dedicated to mom too! Right now I think it will be Minerva on my upper arm, an owl and olive branches on my forearm, and maybe some books and sewing symbolism underneath.

Wow, four classes! I get claustrophobic just thinking about teaching two again! LOL.

I wish I had the money for/ no weird (read: religious and long term) reservations about getting tats! I would LOVE to have a tree of life on my back and lotuses around my belly... and a mermaid somewhere... oh yeah! (But I have this weird symetry thing, so I'd have to do both sides if I did arms/ legs).

My friend Rose is that way with the symmetry.

Everything I've read says a good Jewish person shouldn't, so if religion is important to you, there's no better reason not to have one.

The Jewish law on tattooing is very specific, tho. It's that you can't have "a false idol" on your body. Nothing about images that aren't worshiped.

Also, the myth that every Jewish mom uses "that you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetary with a tattoo" is false as false can be. Plus, do I care? Both M and I lean towards cremation anyway...

The pain factor is a big one for me (which makes me laugh, considering I had Remy at home!) AND the cheap factor is also huge: tats are EXPENSIVE!

And, there's the "will I really want this on my body for the rest of my life" factor. Which, since I am capricious as all get out, is a big factor.

I knew the cemetery thing wasn't true, But I didn't know about the false idol thing. I know the Old Testament says something about not tattooing yourself like a pagan, but that may be a poor translation.

As far as the pain, it isn't anything you couldn't handle. Certainly nothing like childbirth, I'm sure! It's sort of like getting pinched with tweezers, I guess. But after a little bit, your endorphins help out with that. Also, some areas hurt more than others.

I am also a chaneable soul, I knew I'd always love mermais though, and I got my first tattoo, a mermaid on my calf, when I was about 28, after I left my first husband. I didn't get one after that, because I wasn't ready, and I hadn't found the right artist. Now I have, so I'm unstoppable, LOL.

I will definitely let him know. He will love your place and all of your stuff. Maybe I'll get him to bring over his Samurai books too.
