My dreads. Eight Months and some change.

I was going to wait for the one year mark, but what the hell!

Sectioned and braided.





First day!



Week one:


Two weeks, I think?




Three Weeks:


One Month:


Three Months, after adding extentions:

Four months:


Four months, with henna. I just like the way it looks like a mess of snakes!


Five or six months:



Six Months, after curling with Clairol Hot Sticks:


Eight Months:

How beautiful! I have been considering dreads for many years! You have nearly got me convinced! I don't exactly understand how you did it tho. You braided your hair to get it kinky and then rolled it in your hands to get it knotty? Please, do tell!

Yes, that's right, but I backcombed the kinked hair first before palmrolling. There's a great community on LiveJournal called get_up_dread_up. Check their memories for the answers to just about any dread questions you can dream up.
