Here is my Spark food and exercise log. I wonder if I should just post this everyday instead of typing it up here?

Anyway, if you click that you should be able to see what I've done each day, as well as what I've eaten and my weight loss progress.

I'm doing well, and still excited about this program. I think the computer entry part makes it a lot of fun. :-)

I reweighed myself and now it's somewhere between 4 and 6 pounds lost. That's crazy, man!

I like the link idea! It seems like it would be a lot easier for you, and it gives a lot of information.

I noticed, for example, that your carb intake each day is two to three times as much as your protein, and your protein intake is regularly under 100 grams. To maintain muscle while losing fat, it's recommended that you consume approximately one gram of protein for each pound of lean body mass. Or, just to be safe, approximately one gram of protein for each pound of bodyweight. This will probably also make you feel more satiated and keep your blood sugar more stable, making it much easier to actually stick to the diet for a longer time.

I can bump up the protein, but I'm not removing any more carbs right now. My diet has actually made a lot of good changes, so I'm just going to do this at my pace. I am paying attention to my levels, but keep in mind this is the first time in 40 years I've
*ever* kept track of what I'm eating, so I'm not going to discourage or punish myself right out of the gate, it's only been a week.

Well, I don't believe in punishment (unless someone is into that kind of thing.. heh). I was suggesting more protein specifically so you'd have the energy, not get sugar crashes (which aren't only caused by sugar, but by all carbs), and so you don't get derailed prematurely. I assumed you'd want to keep the calories approximately where they are, so if you're going to add protein, you'd have to reduce something else. The obvious choice would be carbs.

If you're not too concerned about the calories, then you could just add some protein. In fact, if you do that, you might find that the carb percentage drops just because you don't have the cravings for them as much.

I enjoy watching your progress. :-)

Well, I hope to keep progressing!
