This evening I finally got started on my Medusa costume that has to be ready on Saturday! I got the chiton cut out of deep green satin, and I have a plan for the headpiece, I just have to sit down sometime tomorrow and do it. I was going to dance to Medusa's Path by Prodigy, which I love, but I'm thinking of going to my bluesy tunes again. I guess I will decide closer to date.

I'm still thinking of doing a Medusa head tattoo on my chest, like the Roman emperors had on thier armor. It would hurt like a bitch though. Also, I may not have enough room between my boobies for the detail I'd like to have. I could get her on my shoulder, or in the middle of my back. Until I figure that out, no tattoo. :-)

This is the one I want, it is from a bust of Pertinax, though the Medusa didn't work for him, he was murdered three months after taking over the position of emperor. But I love the design of this one. The only thing I might change is to make her slightly more feminine, but I may not.

You'd want this on "clean" real estate. So what's more available and open your shoulder and/or back?

Both, actually. I have the huge tattoo on my side that you have seen, and a six inch mermaid on the side of my calf, that's it.

Then size is the issue.

If you want it bigger...back.

You want it smaller...shoulder.

It would get lost on the back at a small size and a large item wouldn't have the full effect on the shoulder.

Now mind you, I have no ink and I have no interest in getting any. But I like to think I have an artistic eye, at least a semi-artistic one.
