Moth update.

The brown one has been identified on a bug finding group as a Walnut sphinx moth
(Amorpha juglandis).

My mom has, I think identified the other, as a Fall Webworm (Hyphantria cunea Drury). I think she may be right because my walnut trees get those huge websacks in the fall. We had to cut one tree back and burn the branches, it was so thick with them.

Today there is a bright green katydid on my screen, along with a couple of large common sphinx moths. I get lots of those!

Very cool :) If I had been at home rather than work, I could have found them for you...but I'm glad you were able to without TOO much difficulty. :) I'm excited to see the cross-section of insects that live out your way, so if you can...keep up the photo posts! I love them! :)

Maybe someday I'll learn how to do pictures on LJ and get out to bug hunt again with a camera. ;)
