I thought they were getting desperate for enlisted folks? The Army turned down my brother-in-law back in 2001 because he has knuckle tattoos in Chinese that say "freedom." Because the Army recruiters didn't take the time to do any research, they just wrote up his rejection as being based on a "possible gang-related tattoo." The Navy snatched him up in a second and he went on to be honored as Junior Sailor of the Year and had his name put on an FA-18. Too bad, Army.
Honestly, what the hell does it matter what's on the person's skin as long as they're willing and capable of doing a good job? I think killing innocent civilians does FAR MORE to ruin the military's shiny image than tattoos on their enlisted.
