New Friends, New game.
Jan. 6th, 2009 08:34 amLast night Corey and I went over to
gypsy1956's place to try out the tabletop game they have going on. We really enjoyed it, and in a way it was nostalgic for us. Corey and I really got to know each other while gaming, so it was definitely a reconnection for us. We chatted the whole way home.
I love the game itself, which incorporates ancient history with fantasy--I have a character who shapeshifts into a lioness, but she uses Egyptian religious elements (which I still have to research!). I have taken the usually unwanted job of scribe and recording the adventures so I'll probably just post them here, using the icon above. Corey chose a Wolfen character (not a werewolf, just a big half wolf guy), the strong silent type which he enjoys playing. He says he is starting to feel comfortable with the group, it takes him a while to relax.
I met a couple of new folks, who are wonderful players, funny and smart. And the house is the perfect gaming palace; she makes yummy food like I used to do for the gamers, and they have a big table to sit at. I didn't realize how much I missed tabletop until we sat down and started playing.
Craig, (the GM) is a laid back guy, who doesn't have a huge ego problem like our old GM Troy. He uses dice, but not overly so, which is good. They play every other Monday night so that works perfectly for me.
I have to get around for work but if you see the beginnings of a poorly written fantasy novel, that's just my character writing stuff down. I'll tag it with something.
