Help!! I'm being oppressed!!
Feb. 18th, 2008 08:24 amFirst of all, Spamalot was wonderful! It was a mix of the movie, obscure Broadway references, fart jokes, Jewish power, gay Caribbean dance, and crazy French people. All I could think about the whole time I was watching it was that I wanted to be up there with them, I played lots of the parts in my head. The actress that played the Lady of the Lake was simply awesome. What a voice!
Remember the trouble I had with workmen's comp? It's still not straightened out. Here's the events, so far:
I receive check A and deposit it entirely into the new account.
I receive check B and deposit half in the old account, and half in the new account.
A stop payment was put on check A. They insist that they've stopped check B, but I know which is which because of when they were deposited and because the second one was split. The check that was deposited entirely has been stopped, and I've been charged a 7 dollar fee. I intend to get this back, but I need to sort everything out first.
In Saturday's mail, I get a notice that the funds of one of the split deposits is being held for reasonable cause. The insurance company swears to me that they have only stopped one check, the second one, which I now have here. I try to explain that the funds that were returned were actually from the first check, but they are sure I'm mistaken. They recommend calling my bank, because the problem must be on their end.
I can't call the bank for another 15 minutes, but I have a feeling they will blame the insurance company. If both checks are returned, there will be insufficient funds charges. Lots of them--I'm quite sure I should not be responsible for them if this happens.
I WILL get to the bottom of this!
Edit: Banks are closed for President's day. *shakes fist at sky* Why are you testing me???
