jademermaid: (Triton Thinking)
The Neptunalia will be at my house, Sunday July 22nd.

All are welcome, you don't have to be a Romanophile, though an interest is certainly helpful. If you want to make a chiton and don't know how, let me know and I will help you. Roman dress is not necessary however, merely encouraged.

I figure people can come anytime from noon on, and we will do ritual somewhere in the mid to late afternoon, depending on the weather and my mood! I'm looking for a less uptight feel to things this year, so bring a smile and an offering to Neptune if you'd like. (appropriate offerings include: small horse or dolphin or seahorse figurines, seashells, river stones and spring water).

However, if you will be coming, or think you may be coming, please let me know by replying to this post, I need to get food prepared and I'd like to know about how many of us crazies will be here.

Bring a suit or shorts to wear under your tunica or chiton, because it will likely be hot and I plan to have one of those mini pools set up to cool off in. If you would like to camp in the yard, you are welcome. I have cats, dogs and horses, so if you have any allergies keep that in mind.

Bring food if you like, I'm going for cool seafood dishes and vegetables.

If you're maybe noticing that you're older than you used to be, and are feeling sad/angry/confused/worried/frustrated that you haven't accomplished as much as you/other people in your present or past/annoyingly critical voices inside your head think you should have, and if you're maybe feeling something like "I'm not a real grownup like everyone else," and if you're maybe also feeling sad/angry/confused/worried/frustrated that your body isn't working the way it used to, and you're maybe thinking, "if that's true then how am I going to DO all those accomplishments that I/other people/voices in my head think I ought or want to do?", and maybe you're also wondering how are you going to dig out from under the accumulation of habit and procrastination and self-doubt to some sense of satisfaction in your life again, then post this same sentence in your journal.
